IFR General Secretary and Delegation Visit Risong Technology

Focusing on High-end Precision Manufacturing to Explore New Pathways for the Global Robotics Industry

Apr 29, 2026 — On April 24, 2026, a delegation including Dr. Susanne Bieller, General Secretary of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR), Mr. Patrick Schwarzkopf, Head of Robotics and Automation at the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), and Ms. Anja Schneider, representative of Messe München GmbH, visited Guangzhou to conduct an in-depth research into the robotics industry development in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Risong Technology fully coordinated the overall reception arrangements. Accompanied by the company’s management team, Chairman Sun Zhiqiang warmly received the delegation. A well-organized company tour and industry exchange symposium were arranged accordingly. At the prior request of the IFR, Risong Technology also coordinated the delegation’s meeting with senior officials from the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Guangdong Province.

Site Visits: From Risong Technology to XPeng Inc. – High-end Precision Manufacturing Strengths Widely Recognized

In the morning, the IFR delegation first visited Risong Technology Park, touring the company’s Robot R&D Engineering Center and the AI Machine Vision Exhibition Hall.

At the exhibition area for high-end precision manufacturing equipment, Risong Technology showcased its self-developed high-precision, high-speed six-axis robot (PLR robot) to the IFR delegation.

Rather than aiming to replace established foreign brands, the product is strategically positioned to address ultra-precision manual manufacturing work that humans cannot perform, cannot perform well, or cannot perform cost-effectively. It leverages intelligent manufacturing equipment to boost product yield, cut operational costs and ease labor supply pressures.

In sectors including optical communication, 3C electronics and semiconductors, a wide range of ultra-fine processes — such as optical fiber assembly, FPC flexible circuit insertion and micro-component welding — have long depended on skilled workers operating under microscopes. The industry has long been plagued by unstable yield rates, low productivity and other bottlenecks restricting high-quality development.

Risong Technology has successfully established a fully independent R&D system and in-house manufacturing capability, achieving end-to-end technological mastery covering core algorithms, embedded controllers to precision mechanical structures.

Featuring a repeat positioning accuracy of 0.3 μm, the self-developed PLR robot is deeply integrated with AI machine vision inspection and force control technologies, delivering precision and operating speed that far exceed manual capabilities.

During the visit, the IFR delegation observed on-site operational demonstrations of the robot in key scenarios, including optical fiber assembly and FPC flexible cable insertion for display panel production.

Dr. Susanne Bieller, the IFR General Secretary, commented: “High-end precision manufacturing is a core benchmark of a nation’s robotics industry strength. Rooted in real industrial pain points, Risong Technology deploys advanced technologies to overcome the limitations of manual operation. This innovative mindset is truly impressive.”

In addition, the company showcased its core proprietary offerings: the Risong Intelligent Digital Platform (RIDP) and flexible servo positioning system (RMC), along with customized smart manufacturing solutions for automotive, heavy machinery and other key industries.

The IFR delegation commended Risong Technology for its strong capability to coordinate and integrate robotics, artificial intelligence, machine vision and smart manufacturing technologies.

Later, accompanied by Chairman Sun Zhiqiang, the IFR delegation visited XPeng Motors for a tour and exchange.

XPeng Inc. is a long-standing partner of Risong Technology. As an innovative representative in the new energy vehicle sector, XPeng is not only an automotive manufacturer with one of the most extensive robotic applications but also an emerging player actively deploying robotics.

Accompanied by Hu Yining, Vice President of XPeng Group, the IFR delegation inspected robotic applications across robotic applications across production lines covering body welding, final assembly and battery pack manufacturing. The team gained close access to XPeng’s self-developed AI humanoid robot, toured the exhibition halls of XPeng Motors and XPeng Aeroht, and concluded the visit with a concise seminar and exchange session.
