In 2012, we witnessed another successful year for the robotics industry!
In 2012, we witnessed another successful year for the robotics industry! Of course, the increase of demand for robots has lost its momentum due to the weakening economic situation in many countries especially in the Euro zone, in Japan and in North America. However, the interest in robotics and the acceptance level of robots have continuously increased. Despite the unsure global economic forecast we are looking forward with confidence to 2013. The trend towards automation will continue in order to increase productivity, profitability and to guarantee sustainability of industrial production. 2013 will be again an exciting year for robotics!
Please mark some important robot events in your calendar:
From 21 to 24 January 2013, we will meet at the Automate in Chicago. On 22 January 2013, the 4th IFR CEO Round Table is scheduled. It will have a new format. Robot users and researchers will be on the panel instead of the robot suppliers. Topic of discussion will be: “Robots create Jobs”! This topic is also the name of our campaign to increase the acceptance-level for industrial robots. We expect significant attention from the press and the media.
The IERA Award 2013 will be presented on 9 May 2013 in a joint IEEE and IFR event in conjunction with the ICRA 2013 in Karlsruhe, Germany. We are looking forward to outstanding achievements of the inventors with value creating ideas and entrepreneurs who propel those ideas into world-class products.
A Chinese robot association is in the process of being established. From 2 to 5 July 2013, the China International Robot Show, CIROS 2013, will attract robot suppliers and customers from all over the world.
