2011 was again a very successful year for the robotics industry with the number of installations reaching a new peak level. All over the world the necessity to automate has been boosting the application of industrial robots. The recent iREX in November in Tokyo was a demonstration of the innovative strength of the global robotics industry. More than 100,000 visitors was proof of the keen interest in robot technology, in industrial as well as in service applications. Governmental support of robotics research, robot exhibitions and robot conferencesin almost every country, robot stories in the global media every day, numerous official initiatives to promote the usage of robots ... everybody is talking about robots. After 50 years of industrial robots, the world seems to befalling in love with robots.
The prospects for robot installations in 2012 are promising.2012 again will become an important year for the robotics industry with many opportunities to present its strength. This year the IFR’s 25th anniversary and the promotion of our slogan “Robots create jobs” are at the top of our agenda as well as these important events:
From 22 to 25 May 2012, we will meet at the AUTOMATICA in Munich, the most important robot and automation show in Europe. On 23 May 2012, we will have the IFR CEO Round Table and the IERA Award session and the IERA Award Networking Dinner.
The ISR 2012 will be in Taipei during the TIROS Show from 29 to 31 August 2011. You can still send in your applications! World Robotics 2012 will be published on 30 August 2012 in Taipei.
