Robot Manufacturers present Highlights

IFR Members exhibit at AUTOMATICA

The preparations for AUTOMATICA 2010 are in full swing, because the international leading trade fair for automation and mechatronics, which is taking place from 8 to 11 June 2010 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, wants to follow up on its previous successes.

And the signs are good, because users of automation technologies have optimised their processes during the time of the crisis - this is an ideal field for automation and AUTOMATICA.  The industry trade fair is coming in 2010 at precisely the right time.  Expectations for business activity in 2010 are increasing, and consequently the trade fair is taking place at an ideal time.

The IFR Secretariat and Statistical Department will also present their products and services at this important trade show. Please visit us in Hall A2, booth 538.

ANT is the main product of BlueBotics. Allowing for full autonomous navigation, this product providing three main customer benefits: Low cost installation and process modifications, flexibility, and adaptability. Our partner Esatroll proposes Paquito, a forklift with a payload of 1'200kg, handling pallets up to 2.2 m, and moving around at up to 1.3 m/s. With BlueBotics' ANT® navigation, the installation and exploitation of your AGV based logistics becomes quick, easy and price competitive. Our partner Kokeisl Industrial Systems brings Kokeisl Picking Robot(KPR)for powder industry to the market. The modularly built vehicle, powered again by ANT®, collects bulk materials of different charges, from a few kilograms up to two tons. Further products will be displayed: AMV-1 - Autonomous modular vehicle, Shrimp III - mobile platform for rough terrain, Gilberto - The new entertainment robot, and RoboX - Interactive tour-guiding robot.

Danish Technological Institute

The Danish Technological Institute is mainly presenting service robots assisting handicapped and elderly people. The eating assistant robot MySpoon consists of a robotic arm controlling a fork, a spoon and a plate with 4 compartments. Paro is a therapeutic robot seal primarily used for elderly persons suffering from dementia. The Giraff is a telepresence robot providing contact between elderly persons in their homes and nursing staff, care takers or social workers. Nao is an entirely programmable 60cm high robot, and CoffeBot is under development to become a helping hand in the kitchen, cantina or at the office getting e.g. coffee for the staff.

DENSO EUROPE

DENSO Robotics will show their product line-up of four-, five- and six-axis high-speed, high-precision robots with payloads from 2.5 up to 20 kg and arm lengths up to 1.300mm. Visitors have the opportunity to appreciate the complete portfolio of robotics solutions that DENSO offers to the industry. In addition, it will be shown innovative and real robotics applications, ranging from vision inspection to solutions for the pharmaceutical and medical industry. Moreover, there will be a software application park, where it will be displayed several software solutions based on DENSO's middleware ORiN. This middleware allows programming DENSO robots and their connection to other automation devices using high-level programming languages such as C#, C++, VB, and so on; this reduces the time and effort of programming. The highlight of the event will be the worldwide premiere of brand new technologies!

At the Automatica fair in Munich Epson shows automation systems dedicated to applications for assembling an manufacturing. Visitors see on the booth B2/318 the Epson G6-Scara robot and the new G1-Scara robots with arm yields of 175mm and 225mm for extreme precise assembling tasks.

At our stand our partners, from different countries and industries, will present their expertise within the area of automation.  At the same time, you are able to view the entire spectrum of the FANUC product range. Robot models with a loading capacity of 0.5 kg, like the delta robot M-1iA, to those, such as the heavy duty robot M-2000iA, with a capacity of 1,350kg , can be seen, along with the assembling of small parts and the handling of large parts. Furthermore the newest accretion to the FANUC 'family', the delta robot M-3iA, with a loading capacity of 6 kg, will be shown, live in use, in Germany, for the first time.

In a joint booth of more than 400 sqm at about twelve innovative international companies and research institutes will present their new products and developments in Service Robotics, e.g.:

  • new intelligent skills of home assistant robots from KIT, Karlsruhe
  • humanoid robots for the support and assistance of elderly and handicapped people in daily routine tasks  - DTI, Denmark   and   University of Karlsruhe
  • components for service robots - as i.e. light-weight arms, hands and fingers - and their applications - SCHUNK, Germany
  • the new entertainment robot Gilberto; the AMV-1 transport robot for rehabilitation centres and hospitals; and other more - BlueBotics, Schwitzerland

 

The visitors will have the chance to get into direct interaction with the robots, and to discuss technology with the robot developers themselves.
